Everyone has their personal New Years resolutions, but there are other minor adjustments you can make to help improve your life. One of these is becoming more organized in order to attain a clutter free lifestyle. Keeping your life organized can help reduce stress, increase productivity and save time on your daily routines. Here are 5 tips to help organize your life!

Throw Out Old Junk – A great way to kick off the New Year is to go through your house and clean out all of the junk you don’t need anymore. This can pertain to clothing, old books or CDs, children’s toys and any other miscellaneous unused items. By removing the unnecessary clutter, your home will feel refreshed and cleaner than ever before! You can even donate the unused items or sell them in a garage sale to make some extra cash.

Use a Schedule – This is an essential part of keeping your hectic life organized. Our days are usually jam packed with meetings, appointments, and other special events, which is why you need reminders to keep yourself on time and responsible. It’s also an excellent method to write down your goals and when you’re looking to accomplish them.

Have Time for Yourself – Try to take at least an hour out of the day to relax and do whatever you want. Everyone needs to unwind at some point; otherwise, we’d all lose our minds from stress. Take a nap or watch to recharge your batteries or watch your favorite TV show to boost your mood. The results will carry over and help make a positive difference in your day.

Take Inventory – Make sure that you take inventory of all your valuable belongings. This will keep you organized just in case you’re a victim of burglary. An updated and precise list will come in handy if you have to file a home insurance claim sometime in the New Year!

Keep a Budget – Finances tend to be one of people’s biggest concerns and it can result in a lot of stress if handled poorly. Fix this by creating a weekly and monthly budget for yourself so that you’re not overspending on things you don’t need, which results in living paycheck to paycheck. If you budget properly, you can also save a lot of money that can go towards a vacation or other exciting expenses.
